Jack Lewis Spark

What is Spark?

Jack Lewis Spark is a collection of natural, loose round diamonds that have received a cut grade between 4-10 from the American Gem Society Laboratories. The AGS cut grading scale goes from 0-10 (with zero being the best), so Spark gives you the widest range of cut choices among our in-house diamond brands.

At any given time, the 15-20 diamonds in the Spark display case will be uniquely diverse in color, clarity and carat weight, but the 4-10 cut grade is what they will always all have in common. That’s what it means to be a Jack Lewis Spark.

Why Spark?

The diamond industry has long known that, of the traditional 4C’s, the Cut grade is the most important factor in describing a diamond’s beauty. But despite our preference for Cut, you might have other priorities for your diamond, like Color, Clarity, or Carat weight. That’s why Spark exists: to allow flexibility on Cut grade so you can still find a dazzling diamond that excels in whichever other area is most important to you.

Shifting over from a Flame or a Sizzle to Spark doesn’t always mean “saving money,” since other factors like carat weight and clarity play significant roles. However, many times, you will find that Sparks are the most budget-friendly diamond choice that allows you to spend your money in other areas, such as in a really customized ring design or a higher quality ring metal. Because while there absolutely is a difference in light performance between a 0-grade Flame, a 2-grade Sizzle, and a 5-grade Spark, you may decide it’s not that much of a naked-eye difference, making you perfectly happy to choose a Spark. This is why we strongly encourage you to look at diamonds in person, so you can decide for yourself after seeing it up close! Again, at Jack Lewis, we champion love and are most interested in what this diamond means to you. Jack Lewis Flames are the best, Sizzles are close behind, but Jack Lewis Sparks are also fantastic choices. Seriously, just because Spark is our “3rd tier” doesn’t mean these are cheap, “bottom of the barrel” diamonds. They are still spectacular stones. We wouldn’t offer them if they weren’t.
